Going to a hair salon is a common experience women share. As a part of the salon “experience” client’s share personal stories with their stylist and joining in on salon conversations on everyday topics ranging from family announcements, to the latest restaurant and life transitions.

A hair salon provides an environment for a variety of cultural conversations with most-in-the-know women at the top of a wide range of fields. Women share, they share issues that they care about and opportunities exist to build a strong support system that empowers leadership and self -awareness towards personal purpose.

The “Power of the Conversation” stimulates additional opportunities for women to connect, talk and become an inspiration and provide motivation into action, making these conversations powerful as potential influencers in careers, businesses, politics and general consumerism.

Meet the Guests
Eunice Carter is a retiree of Wells Fargo Bank, where she worked for 38 years in various positions. Upon retirement she held the position of Assistant Vice President in the Cash Management department. Eunice remains extremely active in her retirement. She is captain of her bowling league, captain of her Senior Day Women ALTA team and plays on a mix double tennis team as well as a Senior Women’s team with women of all ages. Eunice is married to Eugene and they have 2 children as well as 2 grandchildren. Eunice and Eugene have been married for 48 years.

She is a very active member in her church where she’s been a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Teacher of the year and is currently the President of the Greeters ministry. At home, Eunice is a doting wife to her husband Eugene and loves to speak wisdom into her children, grandchildren and young adult family members and friends.

Etosha Thurman is Head of Cloud Customer Engagement Strategy at SAP, a multinational Enterprise Application software company, focused on creating standardized, global operating processes that support SAP’s cloud customers after the sale.  She has been with SAP since 2010, spending more than six years in the SAP Ariba line of business in various customer-facing roles.  Prior to her current role, she led the largest customer engagement team within SAP Ariba, influencing SAP’s relationship with over 100 customers located in the US South as well those in the Retail industry throughout the US.  She has consistently focused on internal and customer change management to adopt and excel in cloud software.   Etosha has been involved in SaaS companies since 2002 and has passion in leveraging the cloud to deliver exceptional business results. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Etosha works to support the missions of both organizations.  She has an Undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University in Actuarial Science and a MBA in International Business from the University of Cincinnati.  Etosha lives in Decatur, GA and is an ardent traveler and avid reader. She has been married to her husband, Alfonzo, for 18 years and is the proud mother to Trinity (11) and Trip (9). 

Dr. Yanci M. Baker is a proud wife, mother, and professional. Originally from Jackson, MS, Yanci graduated from Dillard University (New Orleans, LA) in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Subsequently, she matriculated to Emory University for graduate school, finishing with a Master of Science in Clinical Research and PhD in Pharmacology in 2010. Yanci is currently a Medical Science Liaison in Women’s Healthcare at Bayer US, where she provides clinical/scientific support to healthcare professionals in GA, FL, and SC. In her spare time, Yanci enjoys volunteering (she is an 18-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.) and most importantly, spending time with her husband Ben, their 14-month old daughter Olivia, and her family and close friends.

Kamila Brown Washington is a Marketing and Public Relations Executive turned Entrepreneur. After 23 years working in the corporate sector, it was time to combine her passion for fashion, career development, and coaching with her knowledge of branding. As a degreed Wardrobe and Fashion Stylist, Kamila works with men and women inspiring and motivating them to see the value of enhancing their professional image and personal brand as a means of attracting the success and lifestyle they deserve. She helps her clients identify their strengths and unique style, and then, coaches them to make positive career changes. Honest communication, an authentic connection with her clients, and strategic planning are key components to her process.  Kamila founded KPD (Kamileon Professional Development) in 2008 after spending a significant amount of time teaching Job Readiness courses to disadvantaged women from the Department of Family and Children Services’ TANF Program. She has a Master’s degree in International Marketing and is certified in professional development from Harvard University. Kamila serves as an Adjunct Professor at Atlanta Technical College. Meet Special Guest Patricia Bryant

Patricia Bryant believes that all God's children were endowed with unique gifts and talents from birth. Her mission is to aid groups and individuals in the process of executing the events and steps toward divine purpose as God has designed through the teachings in God's Word (The Bible).   ​Educated at Northwestern and DePaul, DeKalb and Georgia Tech, Patricia has served 20+ years in the Information Technology field. Blessed to travel to 33 international cities and facilitate IT trainings, she understands that God transformed her skills and experiences to the anointing gift of teaching God's percepts for spiritual growth - thus birthed Spiritual Gleanings, LLC.   Spiritual Gleanings is a faith based ministry grounded in Christian principles focused on helping women to embrace and celebrate their stories as they grow from chapter-to-chapter of their life's journey.

Meet Deborah Crowder:

As a healthcare professional her overall mission is to educate, advise and ensure a healthier working knowledge and understanding on insurance procedures, claims processing, provider selections, healthcare reforms and changes. Meet Denia Durden:

Denia is a senior stylist/trainer and administrator at Salon BKB. In less than four years at the salon, Denia has assumed increasing responsibility to help the salon achieve and maintain high professional standards.  As an administrator and trainer, Denia leads the recruiting and training of new salon staff to embody the Salon BKB difference.  Her strong work ethic and superb organizational skills are an asset to the successful management of the salon.

Denia has a passion for protective styles such as crochet braids. She enjoys educating clients about these styles and creating exciting looks that give their hair a break from the heat and excessive manipulation of regular hair styling. Her crochet braid artistry in not only sought after by clients, but Denia has been invited to train other stylists across the country.
