There’s No Place Like Home
In this episode Host Michelle and her special guest Phaedra talk to you about what is occupational therapy, who needs it, who pays for it, and the many benefits of it for individuals who want to remain in their own homes as they age. Empowering information is shared with “nuggets” of wisdom Phaedra has gained through her practice, experience and in direct patient care.
Meet Phaedra: My name is Phaedra Mashburn-Olomo, licensed occupational therapist and owner of “The Neighborhood OT”, a community-based Occupational Therapy private practice specializing in healthy aging/ aging-in-place for older adults. I’ve practiced occupational therapy for nearly 18 years in a variety of settings: acute care, inpatient rehab, outpatient, skilled nursing, sub-acute, day rehab, acute psych, community health, and home health. I am currently addressing healthy aging + wellness + social determinants of health in community-dwelling persons via education, screening, and occupational therapy interventions to support individuals and their caregivers as they age-in-place.

I enjoyed this episode; it was informative and your guest adjusted her speech to the audience and she even mentioned how as professionals we assume others know what we know. I appreciated how you both broke things down, it was understandable.
